Hi everyone,

This message was mistakenly sent to the partimus board mailing list, but
even though this isn't local I think the work of other organizations (and
our own Board member Beth Lynn!) would be interesting to our community, so
forwarding here :)

Subject: Edubuntu Linux is launched at ComputeReach on March 6, 2012
ComputeReach begins a new chapter to add to our Apple recycling success:

*Edubuntu Linux* on recycled PCs for use in under-resourced communities.

Linux enthusiasts from:

Pittsburgh, Massachusetts, China, Connecticut, Delaware, Seattle,
Harrisburg PA, Arnold PA, Jacksonville FL, Detroit MI, Fort Wayne ID,
England, and Burundi .... all gathered at ComputeReach warehouse at
Construction Junction to launch the Edubuntu Linux program.

Please see this short video and photos of the event:

A special shout out to *Beth Lynn Eicher *( now living in Chicago ) for
all her help getting the Linux program running, as she could not be there
in person on March 6 for our launch.

Another *posthumous credit to Dave Nolder from Goodwill* for helping us
begin this entire process back in 2010. We sadly lost Davey in a car
accident in April 2010 and we still miss him ... and give much of the honor
of this day to him for his vision of Open Source Software on recycled
Intel-based computers for under-resourced communities.

*18 volunteers* from several organizations gave 3 hours of their personal
time to participate and evaluate our Linux computer imaging processes:

Thank you all for your concentration in this *short "think tank"
session*to help us launch a great
*open source technology outreach movement* here in Pittsburgh on March 6,
2012.

Dave
